# Guides

Long-form walkthroughs of a complete job, in the order the steps depend on each other, told through a business doing it.

A guide is one whole job from start to finish. It is written to be read once,
in order, by someone who has not done it before.

That is a different job from [How to](/how-to/), which documents one screen and
is written to be looked up fifty times. A guide tells you what to do next. How
to tells you what a control does.

Every guide follows a real business through the work, because the order the
steps come in only makes sense when you can see why each one was needed.

## Available guides

| Guide | Who it is for | How long |
|---|---|---|
| [Build your agent](/guides/build-your-agent/) | A founder setting up their first agent, with no engineer | Two weeks, unhurried |

More guides are being written. If there is a job you want walked end to end,
say so through the console.
